I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Ability Employment Corporation for helping me find a job. Even though I was a teacher for almost 24 years, the severe hearing impairment left me feeling insecure in looking for work. I felt I would not be able to cope in the "hearing" workforce. Your encouragement and support gave me a chance to get back into the workforce.
Not only has this helped me financially, it has given new meaning to my life. The self confidence is coming back so that I can go out and seek work after this job finishes and know I am capable of doing a super job even with a hearing impairment. Often people with disabilities lack the self confidence and motivation to face employers, but with people like your corporation, we can become self sufficient citizens again.
Since I have started work again, there is a spring in my step, a smile on my face and I feel like a totally different person. The motivation is back to face each new day. My family and friends are commenting on my new attitude to life just after working 4 days.
Your corporation is a vital part of the disabled society. Just knowing that there is support, is often what is needed for disabled people to get back into society. I hope that funding is continued for these projects so more people like myself can avail and feel "whole" again.
I will be promoting your group to all disabled people because you stress the abilities we have not the disabilities, and that is often forgotten by so many people, including ourselves. I wish you the best of luck in your future undertakings and will definitely stay in touch.
